La casa no tiene internet!!

Hola everyone!! Sorry for the delay in updating our blog. We have been really busy and our apartment doesn't have internet.
Sunday we arrived around lunch time... after a eventful time in Montreal airport and an uneventful flight. St. John's waved our fees on our overweight donation bags however Montreal would not do anything for us. So we had to repack everything over and over and weighed our bags over and over until everything was ok! When we arrived Mama D (missionary), James (Mama D's son) and Krissie (bestfriend who I always live with in the DR) was there to meet us. After getting our car and stuffing everything into our little car and Mama D's jeep we were off to our apartment. After we had all our bags in the apartment we went to Mama D's to call home and then went to the grocery store to buy some food for breakfast. We then ate supper and went to church. It was so nice to be back to my tropical "home"! I don't think it has hit me yet that I am back here! I love everything about this place and I easily got right back into the groove of things.
Early Monday morning we were off to the clinic in Nazaret. I first showed the girls around the village. Soon we had kids hanging from every finger and around our necks. I think everyone enjoyed meeting the people of Nazaret and it was a good first experience. Everyone got to see a little glimpse of poverty. After lunch the girls (Danielle C, Danielle P and Sarah) was put to work at the clinic. They mixed parasite shampoo and cut pills and put them into baggies for the pharmacy. It was awesome to be back at the clinic in memory of Danica and to be a part of it! While the girls did that I was off to pick up Jessica and Joslyn at the airport. Finally we were all together in the DR!! We ate supper and then we went to visit Krissie in the hospital. (She had been feeling sick and had to be admitted... they think it is a kidney infection) The hospital was very different than a hospital at home.
Tuesday we went to Nazaret again to visit the clinic. We again walked around the village to show Jessica and Joslyn around. Already we have little friends made there. We are excited to spend more time there. I then brought them down to a Haitian village called Redemption to see the village and to check on a friend, Pastor Joseph, who was in an accident on Sunnday. We then went to visit "Smith's Barbershop" with Scott (missionaries son) that is run by a friend of mine who is a Haitian. After a Dominican lunch I headed to Puerto Plata to spend the afternoon with Krissie in the hospital and waited for her to get discharged while the rest of the girls took some time to rest and recouperate from traveling, our busy schedule and the heat.
Today (Wednesday) we were off to a Haitian/Dominican village called Ascension to work with a couple missionaries, Jim and Sue, that do a baby minstry as well as a food ministry. Today we were helping with a food ministry. There was HUGE pots of beans and rice made and we helped feed all the elders and children... as well as a few pregnant woman in the village. Danielle guesses we fed about 200 people however by the number of dishes we cleaned it felt like 2000 people! After we were done feeding them lunch we walked around the village for a little bit and visited a fair trade shop (www.latienda.ca) that a couple girls from Canada that have in order to help some ladies in the village make a living. Then we went back to Sosua to buy groceries and to have a REALLY late lunch!
Hopefully we'll be able to blog more now that we've started and have a schedule made!
Miss you all.... but we're all having an awesome time!
